EARLY YEARS CRECHE WORKER
The Family Centre (Deaf Children) is seeking a qualified Early Years Creche Worker to cover 24 sessions over an 18 month period. Each session will run for 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon (including set up/clear up time) in the St Werburgh's area of Bristol. The first block of six sessions will run from Saturday 16th October 2010 through to November 20th 2010. (No session on 30th October 2010). A further six sessions will run in 2011 on 15th and 22nd January, 5th and 19th February and 5th and 12th March. Two further six session blocks will run later in the year from May to July and September to October, dates to be confirmed. The creche worker will be responsible for arranging all 24 sessions of Saturday creche for ages 0-5 whilst their parents attend a course on the same premises. Expected number of babies/toddlers to attend will be eight. The creche worker will need to be able to work as part of a team with the ability to manage a team of volunteers as allocated to them. The Family Centre has resources available for use. The course the parents are attending will have a weekly theme and we would encourage related activities for the children. The successful applicant will be fluent in British Sign Language, be able to communicate effectively to a wide diversity of individuals and work professionally with sensitive issues relating to deafness. They must also be willing to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check and provide references.
